here's how you fix it, if you want to , without redoing all the trim right now....get some paint that matches your *wall color*, do the doors in that color. You will still have a very gay room (by which I mean happy), but it won't be so overwhelming. More of an accent, less of a focus. Also, the room will look bigger, b/c your eyes will include the doors as part of the room instead of separating them. :)
Darned impressive how much you got done in such a short span of time. My deepest bow to you and your assistants.
Thanks on both counts. I'm going to mock up some alternatives in Photoshop and see if we want to make changes to the old room, and what we want to do in the as-yet-unfinished one.
ya know..you've got kind of a Southwestern thing going here...you could add some furnishings & accent pieces in grey and teal, and it'd be great. In a totally 80s kind of Miami Vice kind of way, but still great.
I can hear the themesong now. It would be really interesting to watch a few shows of that know to see what kind of crazy biases I didn't notice in my youth.

Although, *I* think the fuchsia is actually pretty awesome. But it's more important that you and the new roommate like it.
