Back to the Stomping Grounds
I had a great weekend last weekend with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
gailmom in my old stomping grounds of Bryan/College Station. It had been a massively long time since we'd seen each other due to a combination of her inability to drive and my time-sucking career transition. The visit went really well, I got to see her multiple chicken pens, and we got to try out a few things we hadn't before. I think my tendons are mostly recovered. The endorphins certainly helped. :) We ate our last meal at the Chicken Oil Company, where I hadn't been for probably 10 years. It was sparsely populated, but the Deathburger was as good as a I remembered it, and the music was so bad it was awesome. We also got together with a few like-minded friends for drinking on Northgate, which felt empowering in a town known for it's rampant conservatism.
I'm looking to make more of these kinds of trips as my new career takes off and I'm not longer tied to a physical location for work.
