I'm done.

I just tried to watch the first episode of Season 5 of the L-word, and realized I was done with the series. I still highly recommend it to anyone else through the end of season 4, but it's degenerated to a point where it's not worth watching anymore. The soap-opera to relevancy ratio is now completely overblown, and it's "let's get the American public to be more excepting of alternative lifestyles by having lot of hot girl-on-girl sex!" agenda isn't enough to save it anymore.

I have better things to do with my time.

Oh blah. Well, glad you told me. I guess I'll just have to keep watching seasons 1-4 on dvd over and over, as they do tend to contribute to fun states of excitation, on occasion. Ahem.

You might be able to tolerate it with the sound off.

It's cute how serious you appear to be about this.

The L-word is probably the most functionally useful and relevant program to be on television in recent memory. It was actually important. I'd like to say it's not just my hatred of what Jenny's turned into, but that may not be true. At any rate, it was the wavefront of social acceptance for all alternative lifestyles, and I found myself identifying with the characters who often found themselves in trying situations because their sexuality wasn't "normal." Now I feel like it's just a soap opera with lots of really hot girl-on-girl sex. If Jenny were gone, I'd probably keep watching just for that. But her + the soap operatization of the program makes it not worth suffering through anymore.

I'm watching the first episode of SwingTown right now. :)
