The Truth about Relationships
Nov. 22nd, 2005 07:42 pmFrom Sex for One by Betty Dodson, Ph. D., one of my own personal heros:
"When everyone had a decent amount of self esteem, then we could look at what constitutes good partnerships: open communication, complex agreements, tons of compromise, and delicate negotiations. And even after we mastered all that, the chances were still very good that in order for both people to continue to grow and be happy, many partnerships would need to end. And even though a few marriages might last a lifetime, nothing lasted "forever."
This should be required as a Warning Label on every advertisement that pimps Traditional Romance.
I've been planning for a while to write what initially appears to be a very gruesome story about someone who sets out to brutally murder Prince Charming. We later find out that the Prince was really just a machine created by the Patriarchy to keep Sleeping Beauties everywhere in chains. I've been meaning to introduce a proxy character for myself for a while that wields two invisible blades either in self defense or to attack hypocricy and lies, and offing Prince Charming would be a perfect introduction. :)
Blades out!
