Still in Pittsburgh
Oct. 8th, 2007 12:12 amGuess which city has the second most bridges in the world?
Pittsburgh, PA. Right behind Venice.
Although we were concerned Grandma might not live long enough for us to get here on Tuesday, she's had several good days. She was still playing cards with us as recently as yesterday, but today she's shutting down. She hardly takes any water, and her kidneys have been failing for some time. She's not often responsive, and definitely seems to be on her way out. Unless she actually passes before I leave, I'll be heading back to Austin on Tuesday morning, with the anticipation of coming back for the funeral.
Everyone is holding up about as well as can be expected. I'm only now starting to stress, and tomorrow is my last full day. My poor aunt and uncle have been doing the Cleveland-Pittsburgh (150 miles) relay now for over five years, but this should be their last time.
