I mentioned previously that I went to see Fritz Haeg do a presentation on his Edible Estates project. For people who have maybe been wanting to get more into growing and cooking their own food, the series of presentations attached to this project is a good place to start. They continue through March 8th, every Saturday from 3-5 PM at Arthouse @ 700 Congress. These are all free and open to the public. For people who'd like to get more deeply into permaculture design, there's also a Design Certification Program Intensive available here. I'm a graduate of this course, and it spreads wide and digs deep into the myriad of skills, facts, and techniques for creating sustainable living over the course of 10 weekends. Another great local resource for urban sustainability is the Rhizome Collective and their R.U.S.T training courses.
