I sort-of accomplished something.

I belong to an LJ writer's group, The Voluptuaries. You can't see their posts (except when they get published, which many have!) because the group is private. Like most writer's groups, there are monthly quotas to be met in order to remain a member in good standing, or at least in stylish repose. The group has been around for years, and up until recently, eposia was handling all the accounting *by* *hand* every month. You can imagine how fun this might be when someone decides to critique a work from 2004!

To make life easier for everyone, and to get some web programming street cred, I decided to automate the process. Today, in what may be the worst timing in software roll-out history, I posted my first official notice and demo. The program pulls down a copy of the group, runs through and counts the number of original posts and critiques each person does a month, then posts the results to the group once a week so everyone can see where they're at.

I've been programming for 23 years, but recently I haven't been doing web-based programming. That's really where my career is going, though, so I need some bridge-projects to prove to employers I can cut the mustard. This is the first.
