It's a fucking dipper box!

I've been trying to figure out what this fucking contraption is called for *days*, and thanks to The New Create an Oasis with Greywater I was able to find out it's called a dipper box instead of a tip box or something similar.

The reason I've been hyper about this is because my chicken waterer project has bogged down in over-engineering, and it's time to try something simpler.

A tipper box, for those who are unfamiliar, is a box that will stay upright when you put water into it, until that water reaches a certain point. At that point, the box tips, all the water drains out, and the box flips back up into place. It's all done with weighting, so there's no electricity or fancy mechanisms, just basic physics and one hinge. As a mosquito-murdering chicken-watering solution, it's elegant, because all you have to do is pour a certain amount of water into it once a day or however often, and the old, stale water will be replaced by new, fresh water. All the baby parasites go to feed the gardenias. And while I'll admit that isn't very painful, if you really *want* to you could add one of those zap-rackets downstream to provide a little zestful surprise for our unwelcome guests. Sort of a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" kind of thing.
