My singing voice...

...is *horrendous* right now.

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know what it *can* sound like, but I'm being forced to realize, especially now that I'm recording it, that evidently years of daily practice actually makes a *difference*.

Bummer.

I sing along with my music in the car. It makes a BIG difference!

My folks always told me that nobody in our family is musically inclined and I should just give it up already. This is why I will rarely subject others to my singing voice. :)

there was a time I had a voice worth bringing out in public...that time is long past...yes, daily practice *does* make a difference, but if singing in the car and shower counted for much I'd be quite the diva. LOL

I think it must be time to start checking our calendars for a visit again, dear... this post made me think..."hmmm...I wonder if he would sing better or worse with my toes in his mouth?" Guess I'm missing you.

and yes, feel free to delete this if it's an inapporpriate venue for my less than subtle flirting. :P

My long-term goal is to do a poly-themed live performance thing with singing, theater, and firedancing. I'm intending to use a wireless microphone and Ableton to remotely control the show while I'm performing. I'd like to use it as a vehicle to get other people to pay for me to travel to conferences and other interesting destination. And, possibly, feed myself.

In preparation for that, I'm re-acquainting myself with Ableton, and doing vocal exercises in the car.

And, evidently, blowing all my snot for the entire year out this week so it won't interfere with my ability to perform later.

I am highly interested in how it goes, and what you come up with. I always wanted to sit down and make some music on my own without the need for an accompanist, but never spent the kind of time it would take to become technically savvy at any of the software I had access to.
