So I'm in the process of finally re-assembling my EVTAmerica R-20 shitmobile. I put the new controller and DC-DC converter in, wired up the 13+ connections to get it to talk to everything, then tried to put the two batteries that sit next to the controller back in.

They don't fucking fit.

The new controller is basically slightly bigger than the old one somehow, possibly just in that the wires that stick out the front have some kind of black plastic strain relief or plug assembly that sticks into the battery bay at *least* an inch. It may also be longer overall, I can't tell, because I don't have the old once as reference anymore. Here is a picture of my unspeakable agony.

I have already sent off a message to the worthless fucks at EVTAmerica's tech support asking them what the fuck is going on. I look forward to text in my inbox that magically makes the problem go away without the intervention of a hack saw.

And *not* for use on the bike...

* ...and thanks to recent events, I am now officially once again a motherfucker! :)

I *really* appreciate the offer of help, and will probably take you up on it, maybe when you come over to help with Echo's car. I realize there are probably several possible solutions to the problem, but not only am I pissed for myself, but what about all the other poor saps out there in the same position? They definitely switched controller designs *because* the old one had so many problems, so I can't possibly be alone in not being able to fit the new controller.

The controller really can't be moved more than maybe 1/3 inch backward, as it's already custom-cut to fit the dense body frame pipes around that area. However, the *front* of the battery box could probably be easily extended to accommodate the extra space. The first thing I will look at is whether the strain-relief/plugs are actually necessary, or if they could possibly be shorted or removed. That would be by far the easiest fix.

I've also finally gotten involved in the V-Is-For-Voltage community with this post about the problem:
