Ooooh! I have shelf envy! Got an instructable on these, by any chance?

I'd have to modify for the space in which I need to build them, but I like the metal reinforcements and general structure more than most of the DIY guides on such things that I have seen so far.

I actually kind-of wished I had started with an instructable. I designed them in Google Sketch Up, though my final rendition in that software appears to have magically evaporated. Due to miscommunication with a friend of mine, the most visible steel reinforcement is improperly applied here, and will probably have to be re-enforced. The steel ties are Simpson Strong-Ties. They carry them at Home Depot, and you can order them in bulk online. They definitely simplify these kind of shelves, but it's important to ask someone who knows what they're doing how to use them to avoid my mistake. I also hear they make a Shelf Kit where they have all the correct pieces already included.

Thanks. It was a lot of work. Designing it SketchUp first definitely helped prevent a lot of mistakes, though, unfortunately, not all of them. :)
