Information Society, my favorite-band-of-my-youth, not only has a new album, they are TOURING THROUGH AUSTIN on January 18th at my All Time Favorite Dance Club, Elysium!

I'm going to go change my underwear now.

Will they be bringing 50,000 watts of power with them for the pure energy of such a performance? I don't think even a knife and a fork could contain my happiness for you at such a boon. Though I think the chances of me being able to be free and get to the city for such an event are going, going, gone, I certainly hope you will regale LJ with your experience.

I could have gone on, but it IS 5 in the morning, and I HAVE been up since 10 am, so it's just about time for me to be walking away.

Don't cry, baby.

These comments? I'm sure it was just something in the air.

ah ha! I knew I messed up somewhere, thanks to sleep-dep. got my 80s synthpop songs confused. I'm sure InSoc is bringing 1000000 watts of love to fuel their signals.

Ahhh, excellent, just the response I wanted. As long as it's speechless tinged with awe, admiration, maybe a bit of sapiosexual lust.

*bows with a flourish*

*walks off, humming merrily*

But maybe not for the right reasons. :)

Awe at the comprehensiveness. Admiration at the knowledge. Appreciation of the effort and focus involved.

The lust you get just because it comes from you. Casual (even fairly nimble and clever) punnery is probably one of the biggest turn offs imaginable for me. If you were trying, somehow, to punish me, I could salute you, as I feel this is the only valid use for anything but the most witty and indirect puns. There is no grey area at all. It's either making Shakespeare look bad, or it has to be uttered with the fevered sincerity of one who knows the fiery depths of their Final Destination. I can't imagine any punishment worse than being forced to attend the O Henry Pun Off held here in Austin each year. I dream of firebombing it, but that would require getting too close. I might hear something.

It's definitely something I need to lighten up about. I can't really think of anything else that bothers me as much, which is very strange. It's probably the closest thing I have to a major neurosis (though those who know me might disagree.)

If we're ever naked in the same place, you'll be tempted, as I would be in your place, to say something terrible.

At which point the fate of my erection would be between your lips.

I'm going to go kill myself now.

It's really fascinating how puns seem to be one of those areas where there seems little emotional middle ground: either you love 'em or hate 'em. Had I realized you were a pun-hater I likely wouldn't have bothered, it was done with the intent to entertain. I'm not a huge fan of withering erections for sport. And I refuse to read back over this to see if I've accidentally slipped in a pun, that sort of paranoia is no good long term. *grin*

I used to have to concentrate...

...on what I was going to say to filter out puns, but now it's entirely subconscious.
