I had a spectacular time at Alchemy and with [livejournal.com profile] dj_warhammer in Savannah, Georgia. I took *way* too many pictures, the best of which I will post soon. More later when I'm less travelfied. Please hold the economy in check until I can figure out what the hell to do do about it.

I'm sure you will.

Thanks for busting your ass at the event this year to help make it fun for everyone else! I had a great time and really appreciate the volunteer effort. I'm glad I was able to help take your R&R to the next level. I also wanted to mention that I cruised by Area 51 to see D. and thank him on all of our behalves for his contribution to a spectacular event. I also managed to do some favor-returning to P. and her crowd.

Now I'm trying to remember who P is. Damn initials.

I also thanked D from Area 51 for his hospitality the next day, and played the old "what comes around goes around" game with gifting. In fact, I gifted so much that, when I did the math on Tuesday, I was a little chagrined at how much cash had gone out the door! Whatever. Call it an investment in the community. I'm sure it will come around again one way or another.

P. had the blinkey tiara.

Investments in A51 are likely to be good ones.

Already told I. that I came down with something cold-ish this past Thursday, and Lo has it too. It's just about gone, no fever or anything, just sniffleys and tiredness. I figured it's good to disseminate bug vector info in case any patterns emerge.

The Circuit worked really well this year, so I might try to repeat it again next year. I'll be at Transformus if they get their 21+ policy changed. I know others have been whining about other reasons not to go, but the event itself this year was actually pretty fabulous despite all the drama. I'm also planning on returning to BRC to ranger next year, so there should be plenty of opportunities to get together. I'm slowly acquiring an Atlanta crowd, also, and that eventually may justify another trip. Possibly to Frolicon or something similar.

P. had the blinkey tiara.

I know that person by two names, a given one and a taken one, but neither starts with P. I think you might have spaced her name. It starts with an A. Ahh, initial-ized anonymity on LJ.

returning to BRC to ranger next year

Yeah, if they'll have you! Seriously--let me know how it turns out, and if you can get any sense of why they rejected us last year, above and beyond what they actually told us, I'd love to hear it. Whatever. Who needs the BRC rangers anyway, right? I get to be the HEAD of the Alchemy rangers! YEAH! Sour grapes much?

Overall I know that I gave the impression that I was too self-helpy. I didn't feel ready, and they could tell. Next year, I will *be* ready, and also have quite a few more rangering hours under my belt. I've also been through the mentoring process before, so I have a better idea what to expect. I much more surprised they rejected you, but I wasn't around for your shifts. :) I took notes about mine. In the unlikely event they reject me a second time, I'll probably be willing to let it go and do something else.

I *did* get the impression that they had a *lot* of trainees in 2007, so part of the problem may have simply been too much supply and not enough demand.
