Completed switching out the dusty, outdated, ghetto-engineered chandelier in the kitchen with a new one. The new light shows only filtered light downward, as well as reflecting more light off the ceiling, preventing annoying direct-light glares. It also has a straight-down bulb for reading.



I also replaced the hard-to-clean shutters on the inside of the window above the kitchen sink with a simple accordian-fold shade that has the fabulous extra benefit of reflecting a huge amount of extra light onto previously ill-lit portions of the counter.
