It's Official
Jun. 3rd, 2008 12:26 amIt is no longer hip, sexy, or in any way relevant to attempt to dress like, look like, or, really, even identify with Jenny from the L-word.
I was just as into her for a few seasons as you were, but it's over. Forever.
The fact that I see evidence on the website that she came back after floating away (Forever, we'll note) in the boat during last season may well have reduced the chance I ever tune into an otherwise fantastic show to zero.

Date: 2008-06-03 06:19 am (UTC)I was totally into Jenny for quite some time. I could go back and try to figure out at what point I started hating her, but it's probably a waste of time. The place where I noticed the transition was in my reaction to people emulating her at dance clubs. At first I was like "Hey! Cool! Hot! I'm dancing near Jenny!"
Now I have this almost uncontrollable urge to leave the dance floor whenever a JennyClone shows up. And it takes a *lot* to get me off the dance floor.
Random hatred can be fun, as long as no one gets hurt. :)

I first saw Mia in Exotica, an absolutely brilliant movie by her husband, Atom Egoyan, and if you've not seen it, you need to go find it... (Canadian, natch). She was luscious in it, and I think part of my disappointment in her in L-Word (a show that's usually guaranteed to get me horny, btw) is that she turned her natural appeal in to a parody of her natural perversion. I had great hopes for her; such a waste...
