So I own a Palm Centro. I got it because I wanted to snub the nanites sent by Steve Jobs up the keys from my Mac and into my brain telling me to buy an iPhone. Overall I like it, and as I'm getting into mobile app development again, I'd like to be able to write a little application for it. I would *prefer* to write something portable, so it would be easy to continue with the new application on what I get next.

At first I had a lot of problems getting the Palm Developer Network to work for me to get the latest tools, but it seems to be working better now. I'm leaning, at this point, toward developing it as a Java Midlet for J2ME (Java for Small Shit, for those unfamiliar) which will help with portability and re-usability.

Time to brush up on my Java.

I just got a Palm Centro, but I haven't found a good way to get fully integrated LJ usage from it:

1) All the clients I've found are post-only. They don't allow you to read other people's posts.

2) The built-in web browser, Blazer, doesn't seem to work with LJ at all. When I try to go to any specific post, it tries to save it as a text file instead of displaying it on the screen.

3) When I try to respond to posts from within Yahoo web mail (accessed through the included Mail client) it doesn't work because some of the keys used for typing (spacebar, backspace, and the 'm' key, for example) are mapped to other e-mail tasks, making it impossible to actually write in the text you want to reply with.

Since it's fairly obvious that the only reason the Centro was developed was for everyone to hear more about my exciting life on the couch with my dogs, this is all pretty surprising.

Anyone else found a better way to to LJ from their Palm or mobile device?
